Two major improvements which will impact the lives of Canowindra residents, the new Tom Clyburn Oval grandstand and Nyrang Creek Bridge have been officially opened.

The projects were two of four officially opened in Cabonne Shire last weekend.
The other two projects were the activation of Molong town centre and the construction of female changerooms at Jack Huxley Oval in Manildra.
The new grandstand at Canowindra Sports Oval features:
- Undercover seating for 210 spectators
- Two change rooms, each with four showers and two toilets
- Female toilets with four cubicles
- Male toilets with two toilets and a urinal
- Unisex/disabled/baby changeroom
- Referee's room with an additional shower and toilet
- New canteen/bar
NSW Upper House duty MLC representative for the Orange region Stephen Lawrence, member for Orange Phil Donato, Cabonne councillors and staff officially opened the new facilities.
"I am sure you can all remember the old grandstand which had well and truly passed its use by date," Cabonne mayor Kevin Beatty said, before cutting the ribbon to officially opened the new facility on June 29.
"It is a great pleasure to present this (new grandstand) and open it."
Cr Beatty thanked the NSW State government for $1.8 million in funding for this project.
Mr Lawrence said it "must be remembered the local community also contributed.
A further $300,000 for construction came from the Canowindra Town Improvement fund.
"It's exactly the type of quality facility that towns like (Canowindra) deserve," Mr Lawrence said.
"It's a good value spend on a big facility, money well spent. I hope it adds to the community and sporting life here in Canowindra," he said.
Local user groups were actively involved in the design and proposal to ensure the grandstand would benefit the local sporting community, support larger crowds, and promote women's sports.
