Winds can be too strong some days and too light and calm on others but flying has still gone ahead during the opening days of the challenge which continues until this weekend.
On Monday afternoon only two balloons flew due to the calm conditions.
Anyone interested in seeing the balloons, which take off from the Canowindra Sports Oval, should check the Canowindra International Balloon Challenge facebook page before attending.
A short description of the tasks set for the balloonists will also be posted on the page.
The weather is looking fantastic for the remainder of the week with morning launch from 6am and afternoons from 4pm.
And don't miss the Cabonne Community Glow at the Oval on Saturday night from 3pm to 10pm.
